We are the mid-Michigan area's original hospice organization.
Founded by local citizens and volunteers united in their desire to provide care options for people in the last stages of life, Hospice of Lansing has proudly served the terminally ill since 1979, and Ionia Area Hospice has done so since 1983. The two hospices affiliated in 1993 to better serve the mid-Michigan area, and their service area now includes 10 counties.

We are licensed by the State of Michigan and are Medicare-certified. Our hospice program is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Michigan Cancer Consortium, and Michigan Home Health Association.
Hospice is not simply a place or an organization. It is a philosophy and a commitment to kindness and caring.
At Hospice of Lansing and Ionia Area Hospice, our only mission is to provide comfort care at the end of life. We believe that a life fully lived, no matter how long, should include an end-of-life experience of comfort, dignity, and peace. Our goal is to keep each patient as comfortable and independent as possible, while supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their loved ones.
We:
Provide comprehensive, high quality hospice services to meet medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual needs for individuals facing the last stages of life, as well as emotional care for their families and friends
Conduct continuing bereavement programs for the families and friends of hospice patients and others in the community
Support partnerships between the health care community and the people of the geographic areas served by Hospice of Lansing and Ionia Area Hospice
Promote community education to foster awareness, participation, knowledge and understanding of the hospice concept of care among the public and health professions

Letter

Should the time come when it is no longer possible for a patient to remain at home, Hospice of Lansing’s Stoneleigh Residence is a unique, comfortable, peaceful, and home-like alternative.
Surrounded by gardens, a cascading pond, trees and wildlife, the Residence is designed to take full advantage of the natural beauty of its wooded 22-acre site. This home with eight spacious bedrooms and comfortable gathering areas is a peaceful place for patients, their families and loved ones to spend time together at the end of life.
Stoneleigh Residence nurses and nurse aides — many of them nationally board-certified in hospice and palliative care — provide compassionate, skilled care around the clock. A skilled residence social worker helps families and patients with psychosocial support. Food service staff, including a dietician, handles the unique nutritional needs of our residents.
Patients and families can not say enough about the wonderful care that is provided at the Stoneleigh Residence. The serenity of its location and great hearts of its staff and volunteers make it one of Mid-Michigan's most treasured medical facilities.
