HistoryWe are mid-Michigan's original hospice organization. Founded by local citizens and volunteers united in their desire to provide care options for people in the last stages of life, Hospice of Lansing has proudly served the terminally ill since 1979, and Ionia Area Hospice has done so since 1983. The two hospices affiliated in 1993 to better serve the mid-Michigan area. Currently our service area includes 10 counties.

We are licensed by the State of Michigan and are Medicare-certified. Our hospice program is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Michigan Cancer Consortium, and Michigan Home Health Association. Our Mission and PhilosophyWe are a nonprofit Hospice dedicated to serving all by bringing kindness, respect, and quality to the end of life.
We are proud that many of our staff are nationally board-certified in hospice and palliative care. The nurses and nurse aides who are board certified have passed examinations by the National Board for certification of hospice and palliative nurses. This is the highest distinction a hospice nurse or nurse aide can achieve. This means our staff is committed to professional growth and knowledgeable in the most current and up-to-date methods of hospice care.

Board of Directors:
We are a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to do what is right for patients and their families. We are experts in end-of-life care.. Our entire focus is on providing the best hospice care. As a nonprofit hospice, we are also uniquely committed to serve our community. We are able to provide charitable care to patients who have limited or no ability to pay. We also work with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurers in order to make our care as accessible as possible.
IndependentWe are independent and not affiliated with any other organization. We work in partnership with our local hospitals, long-term care facilities, and many health insurance plans to ensure that patients receive the care they need.
